17-Year-Old Arrested for Armed Robbery and Firearm Charges After Incident in Roxbury, Boston

In a swift response to a distressing scene in Roxbury, Boston Police arrested a 17-year-old male suspected of armed robbery and possession of an illegal firearm, the department reported on Thursday. According to the official Boston Police news release, officers from District B-2 hurled into action after a 911 call described a person brandishing a gun around 46 Zeigler Street at approximately 4:34 PM.

The narrative unfolded when Boston Police Operations dished out the suspects’ descriptions to the officers on the beat, prompting them to seek the criminals at 12 Bethune Way, where, upon arrival, the officers observed one individual—a 17-year-old—clutching at his waistband, later leading them on a pursuit that ended in a parking lot off Harrison Avenue and after a secondary report, a foot chase ensued with the officers tracking down the suspect after he jumped over a fence.

An additional 911 call reporting an armed individual at 105 Zeigler Street steered officers to a second scene, where the purported culprit was spotted meddling with his backpack. The suspect complied with the officers’ command to halt, leading to the recovery of a SCCY CPX-2 firearm with a round in the chamber from his sweatshirt.
