Brothers’ bodies found after pair was swept away by Lake Erie rip current

An Ohio family is grieving two brothers who were found dead after they were swept away by a rip current in Lake Erie, according to park officials and the deceased men’s relatives.

The brothers, Austin Labbe, 22, and Trent Sanchez, 19, were reported missing out of Lake Erie’s Huntington Beach in Bay Village, Ohio, on Sunday, Aug. 17, Cleveland Metroparks confirmed to USA TODAY this week.

Searchers recovered their bodies three days later on Wednesday, Aug. 20; their remains were about 6 miles away in Lorain County and Avon Lake, Cleveland Metroparks said in a subsequent news release…
