COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — Jarvis McKenzie, a resident of the Spring Valley community, has spoken out for the first time after being targeted in a racially motivated attack, marking the first hate crime under Richland County’s newly established ordinance. McKenzie, who works for the City of Columbia’s wastewater department, described the incident that has forever changed his and his family’s lives Thursday afternoon with his attorney, Tyler Bailey.
