South Christian High School mourns loss of teacher, delays first day of school

BYRON CENTER, Mich. — South Christian High School has delayed the start of the school year following the death of a beloved teacher.

Mark VanStee, a social studies teacher and coach of 22 years, died Tuesday morning, according to South Christian Head of School Aaron Meckes in a post on Facebook.

The school canceled all planned activities on Tuesday, along with the first day of school that was scheduled for Wednesday, the post detailed.
