Opening Date Announced for Knoxville’s First Whataburger

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville residents will soon get their first taste of Whataburger. The new restaurant at 1830 Cumberland Avenue is set to open on Monday, August 25, at 11 a.m., according to a spokesperson from Three8 Communications.

The spokesperson said the location “pays respect to Whataburger’s storied history while looking to the future with a forward-thinking design.” The restaurant features interior digital menu boards, a spacious dining room, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The walls highlight Knoxville, and University of Tennessee sports memorabilia is prominently displayed.

Customers have extra incentive to arrive early. The first two diners in the new dining room will receive gift baskets, while the next 50 guests will receive Whataburger merchandise…
