ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The City of Rochester will be hosting a Clear the Shelters event Saturday afternoon at Rochester Animal Services on Verona Street where there will be no adoption fee for those looking to adopt a new furry friend from noon until 4 p.m.
Clear The Shelters is a nationwide initiative in which NBC and Telemundo stations partner with local animal shelters and rescues to promote pet adoption. The campaign has helped nearly 1.2 million pets find homes since 2015.
“In Rochester, every pet deserves a safe and loving place to call home,” Mayor Malik D. Evans said. “Clear the Shelters is a perfect opportunity to connect more of our pets with families who will love them for life. It`s about opening our hearts and homes to animals who are ready to give back tenfold in joy and companionship.”…
