CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A series of serious motorcycle accidents has occurred in western Massachusetts over the past two weeks, resulting in multiple deaths.
The tragic incidents began with a motorcyclist being killed by a truck making an illegal U-turn on I-91 in Longmeadow just over a week ago. This was followed by a deadly crash on the Mass Pike in Warren and another fatal collision between a motorcyclist and a minivan in Charlton. Most recently, a crash in Chicopee left the rider’s status unknown.
“Motorcycles are just inherently more dangerous than passenger vehicles,” said Mark Schieldrop, the spokesperson for AAA Northeast. “You don’t have all that protection that you have in a car, or an SUV or a truck. You’re exposed.”…
