Wilmington, DE – Coast Guard officials conducted a massive joint security operation at the Port of Wilmington on Tuesday, screening hundreds of trucks, containers, and vehicles as part of a multi-agency effort to enforce federal regulations and deter potential threats.
Led by the enforcement division of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, the operation was carried out in collaboration with nine local, state, and federal agencies under the authority of the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA). The one-day sweep involved a comprehensive inspection of 131 commercial trucks and containers, 98 privately operated vehicles, and 616 exported cars, officials confirmed.
