Arlington’s culinary scene is serving up something special with the return of the #SaveTheTacos contest for its fourth year, and it’s shaping up to be a showdown to remember. The Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) has kicked off the event with a call to taco aficionados to help pinpoint Arlington’s Favorite Taco. The contest, which runs from August 19 to September 30, sees 24 local restaurants pitting their unique, limited-time taco offerings against one another for the coveted title.
As noted by the ACVB, along with the savory challenge to chefs and a treat for local and visiting diners, the campaign casts light on the underutilization of paid time off by Americans. “This year’s lineup is our biggest yet, and the competition is fierce,” stated Casey Mallory, Director of Communications for the ACVB, “We’re inviting everyone to take a break, try something new, and help us decide which taco reigns supreme.” The contest isn’t just about food; it’s a dare to transform untouched PTO into lifelong memories and guarantee that these carefully crafted tacos are duly enjoyed, as per the City of Arlington.
Previous champions from Ventana Grille, Grounds & Gold, and Tom’s Burgers & Grill are throwing their hats back in the ring, each aiming to defend their past glories. The winning restaurant will be announced on October 3, just days before National Taco Day, where the first 50 patrons at the winning eatery will be treated to the victorious taco on the house, courtesy of the ACVB…
