Jackson, Mississippi Weather: Less Humid Air and Isolated Storms Through Sunday Night

JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi residents will see a break from the recent humidity as drier air spreads across the state heading into the weekend, though isolated to scattered thunderstorms could still disrupt plans in the southern and eastern counties through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, high temperatures will remain seasonally warm, holding in the lower to mid-90s for much of central Mississippi, but dew points are dropping, making conditions more tolerable. Overnight lows will also trend slightly cooler, dipping into the upper 60s in places like Greenwood, Meridian, and Starkville by Sunday night.

The greatest chance for showers and thunderstorms will stay confined to east and south Mississippi, where brief downpours may lead to slick roads. Areas around Meridian and Hattiesburg could see scattered activity, while central locations such as Jackson and Vicksburg should stay mostly dry…
