The New Iberia Spanish Festival will be honoring New Iberia’s founder in a special event on Sept. 1.
The organization, which aims to promote New Iberia’s Spanish origins and culture, will be honoring Francisco Bouligny at Bouligny Plaza starting at 9 a.m.
The event will include a presentation on the history of Bouligny and his journey to create New Iberia, and will also have a walking parade that will take place in downtown New Iberia from Bouligny Plaza to the Sliman Theater…
