New Orleans high school ranked best school in Louisiana, Top-100 nationally

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Benjamin Franklin High School has been ranked the top high school in Louisiana and the only one in the state to crack the national Top 100, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best High Schools rankings.

The selective-admissions charter school placed No. 1 in the state, No. 1 in the New Orleans metro area, No. 99 nationally and No. 24 among charter schools. Franklin serves about 1,056 students in grades 9-12 and boasts a graduation rate above 95%.

The school has a 91% Advanced Placement participation rate, with nearly all students scoring a 3 or higher on AP exams. Seven students earned perfect ACT scores of 36, while 31% scored 30 or higher.
