WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Police Department has added a new horse to its mounted unit, donated in honor of Sedgwick County Deputy Sidnee Carter.
Carter died in 2022 while responding to a call. The horse, fittingly named Syd, was introduced at a special ceremony attended by family and law enforcement.
“To honor her and have her light continue to shine, that’s a blessing to me,” Carter’s mother, Annette Hardaway, said. “I need to see that she is always still alive — with us, with the community, and with law enforcement.”…
