Lowcountry rainfall totals top 10-inch mark for some areas

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – With periods of heavy rain since Friday, some areas along the Lowcountry coast were already reporting between 8 and 10 inches of rainfall in 24 hours, as of Saturday morning.

Live 5 First Alert Meteorologist Chris Holtzman said that amounts to more than a normal month’s worth of precipitation.

Charleston County is under a flood warning until midnight as streams will continue to rise because of excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Many areas are expected to have slow-moving or standing water…
