INDIANAPOLIS — One of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s special weapons and tactics (SWAT) teams conducted an hours-long operation on the north side of the city Saturday afternoon.
An IMPD spokesperson confirmed that officers were first called to the 3600 block of North Illinois Street around 3:21 p.m. to investigate “a disturbance between a man and a woman.”
After officers arrived at the scene and began their investigation, they learned a woman may have been assaulted and had a gun pointed at her during the disturbance. While they were working at the scene, police saw a person who they believed was a suspect run into a nearby home.
