More than a dozen Lucas County residents, many of them volunteers, turned themselves into spotted-lanternfly assassins on Saturday.
Volunteers like Mary Moore and Jude Muir scoured the garden at the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center for spotted lanternflies to either kill with their hands or capture in Gatorade bottles.
