Big Something takes on The Flaming Lips in the latest episode of the Tiny House Concert Series.
Before performing down the road at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, NC on June 28th (and debuting a cover of “Chilly Water” by Widespread Panic), Big Something stopped by Ted’s listening room for an intimate and emotionally compelling performance of “The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song”, off The Flaming Lips’ 2006 album, At War with the Mystics.
Not unlike its public radio predecessor, the newly launched Tiny House Concert series typically features all acoustic performances. This time, however, the producers allowed the band to plug in its instruments, including an EWI electronic saxophone. “We usually keep it strictly acoustic inside the Tiny House,” they wrote in the video description, “but we had to make an exception for our good friends to express themselves with electric instruments.”…
