A couple of months ago, we noticed the transformation begin on a building here in Amarillo. What was once known as C18 looked like they were changing into a new place to eat.
From C18 to El Agasajo
When it was C18, or Cerveceria 18, they started off strong with some great pricing on their food. We saw a lot of complaints, though, about the cost of alcohol, but they were chugging along.
Then they had some drama on a day when they had no working water. They opted to stay open and have buckets to flush toilets. That hit social media, and it caused them to receive a lot of flak. We are not sure they ever really recovered from that.
New Owners, New Menu
So when the Amarillo building all of a sudden was empty and the doors were locked, we were not really surprised. We noticed them slowly but surely painting the building and adding a new name for the business.
Where to Find El Agasajo
It seems they not only have a new name but new owners. There is also a new menu involved. They are officially open at 3319 I-40. We welcome El Agasajo to the neighborhood.
The best thing for them is that they clearly state everything is new in their social media posts. So far, they’ve received positive reviews and several shared posts. They opened their doors late last week…
