Get ready for a much-needed cooldown this week, offering an early taste of fall.
A cold front pushed through on Saturday, but you will feel the cooler temperatures more for Sunday. Highs will top out in the low 80s under mostly sunny skies, accompanied by a light north breeze.
Even cooler weather arrives Monday, with temperatures struggling to reach the 80s.
Rain chances return as the new week begins. Thunderstorms are expected to develop across Kansas and Oklahoma. While the bulk of the precipitation will remain in those states, some showers may drift across the state lines.
On Monday, rain will be limited to the southwest corner of Missouri and the northwest corner of Arkansas. Rainfall totals will be light, with most spots seeing less than half an inch.
If you miss out on Monday’s rain, don’t worry, another round is expected on Thursday. This second system is forecast to be more widespread and bring heavier rainfall, with many areas potentially receiving around an inch.
Fall-like temperatures will stick around through the week, helping us close out the month on a much cooler note…
