New “Stories in Steel” public art piece dedicated at Tulsa’s Route 66 Train Depot

TULSA, Okla. — A gathering was held on Friday morning to dedicate a new public art piece at the Route 66 Train Depot.

Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols, District 2 Councilor Anthony Archie, artist Jessica Bell and representatives from Route 66 Village and Route 66 Main Street gathered at the Route 66 Train Depot to dedicate the new art piece, “Stories in Steel.”

“Stories in Steel” was created by artist Jessica Bell. According to the City of Tulsa’s announcement, it’s a “$20,000 plasma-cut metal installation that weaves together Tulsa’s cultural evolution with the iconic legacy of Route 66.”
