BOISE, Idaho — Northern Star Dog Rescue and Pet Supplies Plus have teamed up to give dogs a new chance at life, helping them find their forever homes. At Pet Supplies Plus, you can find everything your furry friend might need, from dog bones and treats to a variety of fun toys and accessories. They also offer services like pet grooming and in-house washing, making it a one-stop shop for pet owners.
Amanda Caples, founder and executive director of Northern Star Dog Rescue, explained the organization’s mission. “Our hashtag is ‘lead them home,’ which has a lot to do with our name, Northern Star. It’s the guide, and for these dogs who have been through so much, we are their guide that stands beside them, never wavering, to get them to the correct home and on the right path,” said Caples.
In late 2024, Northern Star Dog Rescue played a crucial role in a dog hoarding case in Twin Falls involving 50 dogs. “We actually have only one dog left to be adopted from that hoarding case. All of them are in amazing homes living life as they should’ve had in the beginning,” said Caples. “We want the unwanted. We want to get them rehabilitated because there is a chance for them 100%. They just have not had it in the beginning, and we want to make that change for them and show people they’re worth saving.”…
