Police searching for driver after asphalt paver crashes into Lexington building, causing gas leak

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A search is underway in Lexington for a driver who took control of an asphalt paver on Friday night and drove it into a nearby local building.

According to the Lexington Police Department (LPD), officers were dispatched around 7 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, to the 2000 block of Parkers Mill Road in response to reports of an asphalt paver that had collided with a building.

An initial investigation revealed that overnight, someone had trespassed and driven the equipment through a fence and into the nearby building, causing a gas leak in the area.
