Man Armed With Knife Allegedly Making Threats to Another Shot by Police in Montecito Heights

MONTECITO HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (KNN) – A man who allegedly threatened another person with a knife was shot and wounded by Los Angeles police officers Friday night in Montecito Heights.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck Division officers responded to an “assault with a deadly weapon, suspect there now” call at 8:20 p.m. in the 5400 block of Monterey Road, where they confronted a man who was reportedly armed with a knife. Police said the officers shot the man, and he was taken into custody.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the suspect to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for gunshot wounds and is listed in stable condition, according to the LAPD.

A knife was recovered at the scene and was booked as evidence. The investigation is ongoing, and no officers or civilians were injured…
