ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Following an incident at Hidden Valley High School on Thursday, Roanoke County Public Schools is reinforcing its message: every safety report is taken seriously.
Officials say that any threat, even if it turns out not to be credible, is thoroughly investigated in partnership with local law enforcement. And with any kind of threat, parents are notified as soon as possible, once there is verified, accurate information
“We would much rather investigate and check out one million false reports than this one genuine one. So please, anytime you think that there’s a concern, let us know about it,” says Chuck Lionberger, director of community relations at Roanoke County Public Schools.
