Tropical Storm Fernand gets named in the Atlantic

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Tropical Storm Fernand got named in the Atlantic with an advisory from the National Hurricane Center shortly before 4:45pm on Saturday, August 23rd.

The storm is moving towards the due north at 15 mph. Fernand has sustained winds of 40 mph and a central pressure of 1010 mb.

The storm is not forecast to make a any direct impact to land or the United States as it is forecast to stay over the Atlantic waters and drift back out to sea…
