Fire that started in kitchen of Appleton home causes $30k in damages, one injured

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – One person was treated for burns and smoke inhalation after a kitchen fire at an Appleton home caused roughly $30,000 in estimated damages.

According to the Appleton Fire Department, crews responded around 4:05 a.m. on August 24 to the 1100 block of West Summer Street in Appleton.

The initial call reported the fire was in the kitchen, and when crews arrived, they were met with smoke at the front door.
