NAMPA, Idaho — The 23rd Annual Warbird Round-Up is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across the Pacific Northwest this weekend, potentially making it the largest event yet, according to organizers.
The event will feature a range of attractions, from the Heritage Flight to a new exhibit on the Global War on Terror, showcasing the growth of the Warbird Round-Up and the museum itself.
“The goals of the event—and the museum—are education and keeping the legacy of these planes alive and well,” said Kevin Eldridge, a P-38 pilot participating in the Warbird Round-Up. “You want to expose people to the history—which is really lacking a lot it seems these days, so just to be able to bring this—tell the story, let everyone see it. You got young kids growing up that don’t know anything about WW2 or anything—and have a flyable airplane, museums are great—I love them—but when you actually get to smell ’em, hear ’em, and see them fly, it brings it up to another level.”
The event opens at 8 a.m. and offers a full day of activities, including food trucks, vendors, a kid zone, and full access to the museum and displays…
