Reno, Nevada – Early Monday plans across northern Nevada could be soaked as widespread rain and thunder roll into the Reno-Sparks area by mid-morning. Drivers along I-580 may face delays from standing water or brief bursts of heavy rain between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Reno, there’s a 70% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms between late morning and early afternoon Monday. Expect a high of 87°F, but any sunshine will be short-lived as clouds dominate and isolated cells roll through Washoe County. Winds will shift northwest at 5 mph before calming overnight. Rain chances continue into Monday night, dipping to a 60% chance of showers before midnight.

While Tuesday offers a bit of relief, a 50% chance of rain returns by midday. Drier skies should arrive by Wednesday afternoon, but early morning rain and thunder can’t be ruled out…
