Pair of abandoned Troy buildings ordered demolished over safety concerns

TROY, N.Y. (WNYT) – The city of Troy is tearing down two buildings in Lansingburgh after an emergency demolition order was issued.

This is affecting the buildings at 624 and 630 Second Ave., after an inspection revealed that the two buildings are slowly collapsing. These buildings are where the old Trader Ed’s and Hot Dog Charlie’s used to be.

Trader Ed’s has been unoccupied since 2011 when a fire damaged the interior. The emergency declaration said the old Hot Dog Charlie’s may have been undergoing renovations that damaged the structure of the building…
