WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — West Michigan’s largest car event, the Metro Cruise, is celebrating its 20th year with collector cars, music and family activities along 28th Street.
Rogers Plaza in Wyoming serves as the main site, open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, with 400 cars on display, live bands, food vendors, kids’ activities, a climbing wall and the Miss Metro Cruise finale.
28th Street Metro Cruise marks two decades
Four additional “Pit Stop” sites in Cascade and Grandville run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cascade Village features inflatables, a car smash fundraiser and free meals for kids, while Friendship Park in Cascade offers bounce houses, wellness exhibits, lawn games and drift cars from Battle Creek. Live music begins there at noon.
Event director Brandon Simmons said the Metro Cruise was created two decades ago when local businesses feared traffic would bypass 28th Street after the M-6 freeway opened…
