KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A water main break forced officials to issue a precautionary boil water advisory for part of Kalamazoo Township Saturday.
The advisory affects Mount Olivet Road from Spring Valley Drive east to about 2,150 feet west (excluding the northwest corner at Barclay Drive and northeast corner at Oxford Street) and all of Regent Street from Mount Olivet Road to the dead end.
Officials say no bacterial contamination has been confirmed. Initial results of testing on the water are expected within 24 hours, final results in 48 hours, and the advisory is expected to be lifted by Monday. City workers may collect water samples directly from residents.
Residents should boil tap water for two minutes or use bottled water for drinking and cooking. It’s OK to bathe in the water without boiling it first…
