Beneficial rainfall on the way

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Clouds continue to thicken up this evening ahead of a system that will bring several rounds of showers over the next couple of days. Wind gusts will increase out of the south during the evening and overnight hours, staying breezy into Sunday.

All of us will notice breezy conditions, but wind gusts will be strongest on and around Lake Champlain, as well as on the northern slopes of the Adirondacks and Route 11 corridor in New York. Those areas could see gusts up to 35 mph Saturday night and Sunday. Clouds and breezy conditions will prevent temperatures from cooling off as much overnight. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s.

Showers will generally hold off until after midnight, developing first in the North Country and northwestern Vermont early Sunday morning. Hit or miss showers will impact the entire area through the day on Sunday. While there will be several clusters of showers that move through, most places will be dry at any given time.
