Manhunt underway for suspect in central Lubbock shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas— The Lubbock Police Department is asking for the public’s help in searching for Kendrick “Skrilla” Taylor, 23, in connection with the Monday, August 18, shooting that left an 18-year-old dead.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported that the deadly shooting occurred in the 1900 block of 41st Street.

LPD stated an officer was in the area of 44th street when multiple shots were fired before 4:00 a.m. Police said the officer was able to find the scene on 41st Street and found Lawrence Brantley, 18, with a gunshot wound. EMS was called to the scene and Brantley was pronounced dead.

During an initial investigation, police found that Brantley, along with several other individuals, was at a house in the area when he got into an altercation with Taylor. Their conflict turned physical just before shots were fired…
