NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Benjamin Franklin High School (BFHS) announced that it has once again been ranked the top public high school in Louisiana by U.S. News & World Report. In the latest rankings, BFHS also placed No. 24 among charter schools nationwide and earned a spot in the national Top 100 out of more than 24,000 high schools, making it the only school in Louisiana to achieve this distinction. This places BFHS in the top 0.4% of high schools in the United States.
“This achievement is a reflection of our students’ curiosity, ambition, and drive,” said BFHS CEO Alex Jarrell. “Being the only school in the state to reach the national Top 100 shows what’s possible when our students set high goals, embrace challenges, and work together with their teachers and families.”
BFHS has long been recognized for its rigorous academics and strong student outcomes. This year, 94% of students scored a 3 or higher on their Advanced Placement, or AP, exams, with 19% earning the top score of 5 and 42% achieving AP Scholar status. ACT performance is similarly strong, with seven perfect scores of 36 and 31% of students earning a 30 or above.
