CBS2 Boise — The clouds that you have seen over the Treasure Valley this weekend is evidence that a monsoon flow is moving up from the south. Normally, we love the idea of moisture in our dry region. The only problem is that this moisture brings with it the potential for thunderstorms which means a chance of lightning. Since our air is so dry in Idaho, our thunderstorms usually generate more wind than rain. So when lighting strikes, there is a good chance that fire is the end result. For example, the Rock Fire near Tamarack Ski Resort was started by a small and fast moving thunderstorm. They’re still working on that fire as I write this.
Look for a mixture of clouds, sun, smoke and showers through Tuesday. We may even see a couple of spotty thunderstorms. But, the best chance for…..
