BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern Canyon Road is closed Monday after rain washed over the road creating unsafe travel conditions with mud flows.
The Kern County Fire Department has announced the road’s closure following the Little Fire that started Friday afternoon. Highway 178 has been reopened and both eastbound lanes along with one westbound lane are open.
