A busy night: Shots fired in at least three areas in city overnight, two people injured

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It was a busy night for the Rochester Police Department, responding to at least three separate shootings, two with people shot, on Sunday night into Monday morning.

It all started around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday when officers learned that a private car had taken a gunshot victim to Strong Memorial Hospital. RPD determined that the 35-year-old man had been shot on Columbia Avenue near Kenmore Street on the city’s southwest side. The man is expected to survive.

Then, officers were called to Monroe Avenue and Alliance Avenue, blocks away from Cobbs Hill Park, for reports of gunfire around 11:15 p.m. News10NBC’s photojournalist spoke with one woman who described bullets flying around people’s heads, saying people were shooting from cars…
