FSU students return to class for the fall semester after deadly campus shooting

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Following a deadly campus shooting in April, Florida State University is hoping to move onto a fresh start for the 2025 fall semester.

On April 17, 2025, two staff members were killed and six students were injured when the son of a Leon County Sherriff’s Office deputy, Pheonix Ikner, opened fire outside of the Student Union Building.
