BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The driver who caused a head-on crash and injured a Brunswick County deputy has been cited, according to a citation report.
The report states that the driver was cited for the following charges:
- Reckless driving- wanton disregard
- Operation of motor vehicle without insurance
- Drive/allow motor vehicle without registration
- Fictitious or altered certificate of title, registration card, or license plate tag
- Expired registration card/tag
- Drive left of center
- Failure to wear a seat belt
- Expired/no inspection
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP), the crash happened on Holden Beach Road near Tatum Road at around 9 a.m. on Aug. 20.
NCSHP reports that a Dodge Caravan was traveling east on N.C. 130 when the driver crossed the center line and hit an unmarked BCSO vehicle that was traveling west head-on.
