FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The last time the Fort Wayne Police Department held a Citizen’s Police Academy was back in 2008. On Monday, the department announced the program, which gives people a chance to get a hands-on experience of what police operations are like, is making a return.
The Citizen’s Police Academy will take place on Thursdays from October 2 through November 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The goal is to develop citizens’ awareness and an understanding of the role of law enforcement. The course has been created for citizens of all backgrounds and occupations…
