Texas Gulf Coast Heat: Houston, Galveston Face Mid to Upper 90s With Air Quality Concerns Monday

Houston, Texas – Dangerous heat and unhealthy air quality are combining to create tough conditions across Southeast Texas on Monday, with highs climbing into the upper 90s and ozone levels reaching unhealthy thresholds for sensitive groups.

According to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston, an Ozone Action Day remains in effect through Monday evening as stagnant air and light winds trap pollution near the surface. Residents with asthma, respiratory illness, or heart conditions are advised to limit time outdoors, especially during afternoon and early evening hours when ozone levels peak.

Temperatures will range from 95° to 98° in Houston, College Station, Conroe, and surrounding cities, with Galveston topping out closer to 93°.
