A Chicago man has been busted twice this year for fishing on the Illinois River. Once in Marshall County and later in Putnam County.
According to the Illinois Conservation Police, back in March they began investigating Hongchun Liu for selling sport fish. In April, a conservation officer confronted Liu operating a boat on the Illinois River in Marshall County. He had no fishing license yet was in possession of nearly 40 grass carp and 70 pounds of roe. Liu’s boat was also rigged to shock fish illegally. He was given a dozen tickets and his boat, trailer, fish, nets and equipment were all seized. Liu eventually pleaded guilty in Marshall County Court and was fined along with giving up his boat, trailer, and other equipment…
