KY3 Digital Extra: Springfield Police Department, local agencies arrest 27 impaired drivers in 10-hour saturation patrol

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) – The Springfield Police Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and eight other local agencies arrested 27 impaired drivers during a 10-hour saturation patrol on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The multi-jurisdictional effort was organized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Officers used marked patrol vehicles to enforce hazardous moving violations commonly associated with intoxicated driving. A total of 419 vehicles were stopped during this multi-jurisdictional patrol. In addition to the 27 drivers arrested for driving while impaired, nine others were arrested for illegal drug possession or outstanding warrants, one stolen vehicle was recovered, and one missing person was located…
