The Village of Richfield was notified by Summit County Public Health (SCPH) that a mosquito trap was set in Richfield, Ohio, which came back positive for West Nile Virus (WNV). It is not uncommon for mosquitoes caught in traps to test positive for the virus.

Most people who become infected with WNV do not have any symptoms. About one in five people who become infected develop a fever with other symptoms such as headache, body aches, joint pains, vomiting, diarrhea, or rash.
