Cars are lining up for Swig, a drive-thru drink shop, which recently opened its first Bradenton location.
Located at 6412 Cortez Road W., Swig popularized the “dirty soda” beverage. In 2024, the drink went viral on social media due to Hulu’s reality television show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,and an Olivia Rodrigo endorsement, according to Bon Appetit.
What’s a dirty soda?
A part of Mormon culture, the dirty soda combines soda with a custom mix of flavors, fresh fruits, purees and creams, according to Swig. Customers can create their own or order from 36 different types on the menu.
Some popular flavors include the Shark Attack, which blends Sprite, lemonade and blue raspberry with a gummy shark topping; the Texas Tab, which blends Dr. Pepper, vanilla and coconut cream; and the Strawberry Breeze, which combines water, sugar-free coconut, sugar-free vanilla, strawberry puree, frozen strawberries and coconut cream.
