Summerville apartments flood during record-breaking rainfall causing three tenants to evacuate

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Three tenants are now out of a home as several inches of rainwater inundated their units at the Greenwave Apartments during record-breaking rainfall last week.

The complex’s owner, Vernon Baer, is asking for the community’s help to get the three families situated as the flash flooding forced them to evacuate. Two cars on the property were also flooded. Baer has owned the buildings for almost a decade, and he said this weekend was unlike anything he’s ever seen.

“I’ve never had an issue in the eight to ten years I’ve owned it. Never had flooded. We’ve gone through a hurricane, we’ve gone through the 1000-year flood – nothing,” said Baer…
