CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is recognizing Overdose Awareness Week, Aug 25-Aug 31, 2025.
“Addiction is not a crime – it’s a public health crisis. Addressing it requires compassion, coordination, and unwavering commitment,” said Sheriff Carl Ritchie. “We pause to remember the lives lost to overdose, lives full of potential, a purpose, and the people who matter deeply to their loved ones and to our community.”
