Michigan Man Charged After Brutal Road Rage Attack Leaves 83-Year-Old Injured Outside Kroger

DEARBORN, MICHIGAN – An elderly man is recovering from serious injuries after police say a road rage incident outside a Kroger store turned violent on July 4, leaving him hospitalized and another driver in custody on assault charges.

Road Rage Turns Violent

The Dearborn Police Department reported that George “Judo” Whittaker, 83, was attacked in the store’s parking lot after an encounter with another driver. Whittaker had briefly exited the lot but attempted to turn back in to drop off his mail, which angered the driver behind him.

According to police, the second driver pulled his vehicle over, got out, and confronted Whittaker. The two exchanged words before a physical altercation broke out. During the struggle, Whittaker fell to the ground, suffering multiple injuries.

Whittaker told local station WXYZ that the driver was “only an inch away” from his face when the confrontation escalated.
