LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Texas and California are moving forward with plans for a mid-decade redistricting of their congressional maps. The outcomes of which could impact which party controls the U.S. House following next year’s midterm elections. But could Kentucky soon follow suit?
The possibility of Kentucky getting involved with redrawing maps stems from comments made by Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., last week. The term limited Democrat put his support behind California Gov. Gavin Newsome’s redistricting proposal.
“But if Texas goes forward, I think that Gavin Newsom is doing the exact right thing in California. If these are the new rules, everybody’s got to play by them,” Beshear said on his podcast…
