Wilmer man accused of shooting dogs with crossbow seeks youthful offender status

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Wilmer man accused of shooting two dogs with a crossbow wants to be treated as a “youthful offender.”

Cody Brown was set to go on trial next month, but Mobile County Circuit Judge Jay York on Monday delayed that and set a November date for his hearing.

If youthful-offender status is granted, Brown’s records would be sealed and his punishment would be capped at no more than three years in prison…
